England reach Euro 2022 final with stunning semi-final win over Sweden

Lionesses roar into first major tournament final since 2009

England powered past Sweden 4-0 in the Euro 2022 semi-finals on Tuesday night, booking their place in Sunday's final at Wembley.

Goals from Beth Mead, Lucy Bronze, Alessia Russo and Fran Kirby sealed a comprehensive victory for Sarina Wiegman's side, who will now face either Germany or France in the final.

It is the first time England have reached a major women's tournament final since they finished runners-up to Germany at the 2009 Euros.

England were in stunning form from the start, with Mead opening the scoring in the 34th minute. Bronze doubled their lead just seven minutes later with a powerful header, before Russo made it 3-0 in the 57th minute.

Kirby added a fourth goal in the 76th minute to seal a famous victory for the Lionesses.

The win was a just reward for England's attacking prowess throughout the tournament, and they will now be confident of going all the way and winning their first major trophy.
