The Mississippi State Bulldogs are the national champions of college baseball. The Bulldogs shutout Vanderbilt 9-0 in Game 3 of the finals to take home the 2023 College World Series title.
Mississippi State's win is the school's first College World Series title since 2021. The Bulldogs are now 2-0 in College World Series finals appearances.
Vanderbilt was making its first appearance in the College World Series finals since 2019. The Commodores finished the season with a 44-24 record.
Mississippi State will now have a chance to defend its title in 2024. The College World Series will be held in Omaha, Nebraska, from June 14-26.
