Celtics Take 2-0 Lead in NBA Finals

Brown, Porzingis Lead Boston to Game 2 Victory

Celtics Dominate Third Quarter to Secure Win

The Boston Celtics are one step closer to hoisting the Larry O'Brien Trophy after securing a 2-0 lead in the NBA Finals against the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday night. Jaylen Brown and Kristaps Porzingis led the charge for the Celtics, combining for 42 points to help power Boston to a commanding 107-89 victory.

Porzingis, making his NBA Finals debut, made an immediate impact off the bench, adding 20 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. The Celtics' defense held the Mavericks to just 36.5% shooting from the field, including a dismal 20.6% from three-point range.

Game 2 was a tale of two halves. The Mavericks led by one point at halftime, but the Celtics exploded in the third quarter, sparking a 10-0 run to take command of the game. They led 83-74 after three quarters and never looked back.

The Mavericks are now in a must-win situation as the series shifts to Dallas for Game 3 on Tuesday night. The Celtics, meanwhile, will look to close out the series in front of their home crowd on Thursday night.
